In August 2011, Miller worked with the Pará Emilio Goeldi Museum, the oldest scientific research institution in the Brazilian Amazon, located in Belem. Using X-ray equipment, Miller documented the animals of the Amazon. This work is an extension of the “Health of the Planet,” started in 2007, when he x-rayed Amazonian plants. It is featured in the annexed gallery space in black and white in 60X70cm format.
With more than 30 solo exhibitions in the US, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, China, Brazil, Miller’s interest is the intersection of art and science in mediums that blend fashion with nature, making use of common medical techniques, such as the X-ray. In 1988, he began working with molecular biology producing still lifes with medical techniques, uncommon in the art world. His work has been reviewed by Le Monde (France), Suddeutsche Zeitung (Germany), The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Art Forum, Art News, and Art in America.
